The Characteristics of the Arroyd Family
My estimates are that the family probably contains as many as 10,000 species. Probably 10,000. So we've probably discovered and described less than half of what's out there. It depends on where you are in the world. In Borneo, for example, there's a lot of new species being described. And also in Columbia, where my main interest has been considered,. There's probably a very large undercounting of species.
