I'm a Cardiothoracic Surgeon and I've Worked in Both of Those Environments.

The service i'm on right now actually is a little bit of both. We see patients in the surgical and the cardio thoracic i from a handful of different services. Any patient that those guys admit to the i c u, we automatically follow and we cind of co manage those patients. But then the majority of the services we provide are consults where the service consults us because they have a patient they're gong to admit and they feel like they need help with.
