The Importance of Timing in Recording
Leon Russell: I started doing some programming, took me some classes in the basic language then in December, Irish. And one of them was a programmable drum machine. He says he first created one that just uses a step time programming system on a computer screen where you plug the stars in and get the space bar to play through. Leon Russell: The idea of varying swing timing in different drummers made a certain track groove or not groove sounded very natural along with dynamics.
