The Biden Administration and the School Shut Downs

Democrats and only Democrats that shut down schools across the country for a year or more. It was only Democrats who did so they did so as you noted at the behest of the teachers union. Every single Democrat in Congress supported the school shut downs. I forced vote after vote on the Senate floor to reopen the schools in the middle of COVID. The effect of the Democrats was to hurt kids across the country but especially hurt low income and minority kids.
