Is Animal Agriculture Really Bad for Climate Change?
The problem isn't that people love meat, it's that we're using the wrong technology to produce it. The land footprint of animal agriculture is more than 80%, probably about 85% of the entire land footprint of humanity. It occupies about 45% of the ice-free surface of earth. All of that land used to hold a lot of biomass in forests and prairies and savannas was eliminated when they got transformed into annual crops or pasture land.
