The Importance of Intubation in Cardiac Arrest
Intubation was pretty much part of what was expected in the management of a patient with cardiac arrest. But more recently, there's definitely been an appreciation that this isn't necessarily as important as we once thought. We now understand the absolute importance of achieving good chest compressions and early defibrillation. And secondly, there's been a lot of evidence emerging over the last few years that has started to refine our practice and make us realize that maybe intubation isn't the be all an end when it comes to cardiac arrest.
