Is There a Difference Between Long and Short Strategies?

I usually describe my trading as position trading. And so I'm not really there to short it and cover on the first flush. So a short seller naturally is not going to be on that side. It's just about knowingly that at any point it can collapse. You have to be ready and willing to take the position off or shave some off. That is counter to the way I've traded for years. But after trading for so long, I recognize the differences and I recognize my own core competency so I can make that adjustment.
