Psycho acoustics fascinated bos as a young boy. He learned to play the violin, but he knew that loud speakers of the era could not reproduce the sound of stringed instruments very naturally. Doctor bos and his team decided to conduct research in the field. They recorded the orchestra with microphones placed on either side of the head of a manikin sitting in the audience. When bow switched the recording to monno, the conductor gasped, it sounded like a regular old set of speakers from that arow.
