Sepsis 2016 Guidelines - Fluid Resuscitation

As per the surviving sepsis 2016 guidelines, fluid resuscitation should begin with the administration of 30 milliliters per kilogram of crystalloid fluid. In most average-sized patients, this works out to about two to three liters of fluid. As always, you should be frequently reassessing your patient's volume status - especially in those with congestive heart failure that put them at higher risk for pulmonary edema.
