Lois pastour invented a flask that kept out microbes, but let in air. He heated the neck of the flask until it was red hot and malleable. And then he stretched it out like a long, thin drinking straw. That's what it's called to day, the swan neck flask. Felix puchet wrote another book in which he made fun of pastur and his germ theory. But he couldn't counter the result scientifically. The academy gave the award to louis pastour. Spontaneous generation faded into obscurity.
