The Impact of Mass Inincarceration on the Crime Rate
The Brennan Center for Criminal Justice says post the year 2000, mass incarceration lost its effectiveness. Low estimates are about 6% on the crime rate; high estimates are about 30%. The philosophy behind mass incarceration is pretty simple: What you're trying to do is incapacitate criminals because the same criminals are often re-offending. These specific individuals are doing it for profit.
