The Utility of Marriage
At its roots, marriage is this rather practical business about like children and making sure that they come to be. And it's a kind of, there's definitely like a utility dimension to marriage. But still, he treats it not merely as a friendship of utility, but also as a friendship based on the goodness of the party's concern. I think it's actually, you could just say, well, finally he got his act together. ButI think it's a little bit more complicated than that. It's worth reflecting on.
