Rabbi David Bishwieffkin: Masserat Sothah can really offend many of our contemporary sensibilities about what marriages should be different gender roles. He says the ritual is not a ritual to test whether or not a woman is guilty or innocent. The Tractate reminds us that we didn't just erase God names but we actually gave the capacity to write a new name of God namely Shalom, peace, tranquility.
