My Name Is January
After the shock of January's murder, Alex Senga, Ash Bra and the rest of the community got back to work. They started peer support groups, crisis counseling and participated with a float in the Vancouver Pride Parade again. In 2015, the group founded the January Marie LePou's Youth Leadership Award which has been awarded every year since. Their next big project was to start working on a short film to celebrate January's life. The multi-award-winning documentary titled My Name was January was released in 2018. It went on to win 13 international awards and was selected for 56 different international film festivals.
