Find a photographer in the field that you want to work with right. Identify a few and then make contact with them. If they're not there don't bother leaving a message because it's not likely that they'll ring you back or leave a message like hey my name's Valerie I'd love the opportunity to be your assistant. There's a fine line between sort of stalking and then just sort of you know making yourself known.
