The Risk of Peptic Ulcer Disease
Pud can be characterized by dyspepsia or epigastric discomfort nausea early satiety and heartburn or reflux. Some of the risk factors for pud are helical bactar pylori infection in long-term. The american college of gastroenterology recommends patients younger than 60 years of age without alarm symptoms should be tested for age pylori and treated to eradicate the infection if the result is positive. Do not order serologic antibody testing as this test cannot distinguish between active and past infections.
