What Is the Meaning of Olive Oil in Consecrated Oil?
For Israelites, the olive tree was everything. The most important and most valuable plant probably in their culture. As we use it in consecrated oil, it's not only used on the outside but also on the inside. What a perfect symbol for the healing that comes for the Atonement of Christ. And so to see those gnarled ancient trees against which Jesus leaned in that all important night of the Atonements is incredibly fitting.
