Price's Policy Changes Since Taking Office

Price is the first black D.A. in Alameda County, and she's part of this national movement of reform minded or progressive prosecutors. Early in her administration, she sent out a memorandum with new guidelines for sentencing. Like other progressive D.A., she's really trying to chip away at mass incarceration by making sentences shorter and charging fewer enhancements. She created a new investigative division to open old cases in which police officers shot someone or used lethal force.
