The Incoherent Moral Panic of Open AI
I'm like one of my big concerns is that this becomes a somewhat incoherent moral panic. Bolstered by people inside open AI and people inside Tesla, who for various reasons find it advantageous to push lines about AI doom and AI Armageddon. I think we have a lot to fear from ourselves in this moment. Probably more from ourselves and where we are as a culture and the quality of our public conversation than we do at the moment from the AI GPT for and its immediate successes.
