Is There a Test to Diagnosis of Narcolepsy?
These tests can be very misinterpreted by doctors as being some sort of diagnostic certainty. They're not. The example I always give with narcoleps is to imagine an animal. That's it has big ears and a trunk. You're thinking, well, probably an elephant. It wasn't born with a tail. Who knows what happened? So I think a lot of times we sort of throw the diagnosis of narcolepsy out the door with this test; that's never what the test was intended to do.
