Is There a Dark Forest?

There may be a possibility that intelligent life is common, but it is very dangerous to other intelligent life. That's why all intelligent civilizations try to hide selves. So there could be lots of other civilizations out there, but the not stupid enough to broadcast their location. And that kind of tells us that we should not be stupid enough to send radio waves into space and broadcast our location to various starsh like some astronomers have done.
