Are We Going to Have a UBI?

We may be moving toward a world where we have more and more people who are just barely being kept around with very small amounts of welfare money. One possible option becomes instituting some kind of UBI or welfare system that replaces the role that those pensions used to play in the lives of those 50 year olds. So I think that we're not that far away from a world where people support some kind of basic income, but only subsistence level. Once that happens, there will then be questions of whether to increase that.
