The FATF and Culture in the Private Sector
FATF is a very insular world full of people who are obsessed with their kind of technical detail and process. One of the changes that I think we saw during the time I was there is that it came under a lot more public scrutiny. There were some grumbles from members in those early days about the secretariat doing that but over the years they grew to understand the value of external communications.
