Tantra and Shamanism

I think that shamanism is fundamentally proto tantra or really is that the tantric spirit is really shamanistic on some profound level. And there's a reality to Tantra. It's not a flaky new age thing. There's a concreteness to it, which people, if you study the Indian Tantric masters, are very worldly and otherworldly. I was thinking about maybe what the culture needs in terms of an artistic revolution. And I sort of think that has to be tantric on some level.
