The case brought a huge amount of public pressure to bear on the c p s. It is really tragic that, in the end, eva was ordered to pay a significant bill for costs. The bill was essentially picked up by rate victims themselves. Evo is a small charity, and its funding for the case consisted mainly of small donations from people concerned about the state of rape prosecutions - including many rape survivors. So it's really disappointing to me that the cp s would take this approach.
