The Congo's Cobalt Mining Disaster
The price of our rechargeable lives is paid in the blood of the Congolese people, full stop. If you were to go there as I did and walk around you would see a complete apocalypse, an utter catastrophe. The entire countryside has been obliterated, destroyed, big mining companies most of which are run by Chinese companies. They have just gobbled up the earth, clear-cut millions of trees, created enormous chasms, open pits to excavate cobalt.
