A psychologist in family proceedings is usually an expert that the court decides it's necessary. A lot of the time, it can relate to attachment between a parent and the child. And it can also look at where there's harmful conflict i a child's life. The courts will need specialist advice from a psychologist to help unpick what is often a complex situation.
