The Differences Between Early Placement and Interval Placement
IUD malposition rates were 8 of the 149 who had early placement. That's 5.4% compared with 0 of the 145 that had the interval placement. Partial expulsions were seen at 9.4%. More patients in the early placement group at 82.4% stated that they were satisfied compared to the interval placement rate of around 70.4%. It's unclear from the data whether a partially expelled or a malposition if that has any decrease in efficacy or not, but we don't have enough data on what that actually means.
