The Importance of Medical Care in the United States

The uninsured are using about four fifths as much medical care as they would get if they were insured. And that's part of why in the end, solving the health insurance problem is not going to make much of a dent in health inequality. We need to address what people now call the social determinants of health. Drinking, smoking, diet, exercise, and so on. The air we breathe, the neighborhood we live in, et cetera.
