Introduction
TTS is a text-to-speech system that actually doesn't sound like a robot as festival does which sounds like a terrible robot from the 70s. Faelyn was trying to do some automated scripting of IVR stuff for a client and I thought, huh, this would be easy. They can just have a simple webpage or they can pick from drop downs to say that such and such is happening between blah and blah. And it sounded so bad it was unbelievable.
