How Badami Was Built Under Vijayanagara Dynasty
Badami was a fortification built under the Vijayanagara dynasty in the 16th century, then repaired and maintained by Hyderaly and Tipu Sultan. The fortification that we see today at Badami on both the southern cliff and the northern cliff are actually products of the 16th and 17th century constructions which were penetrated by the British in 1818.
