"I think we underestimate the importance of what is going on in the parent's head," she says. "Very rarely does a child decide what sport they play." She believes that you can change perceptions one athlete at a time. The next person aspiring to be a fendse or for that matter, not even in sport, aspiring to do something that has not been done before 'is a conversation changer', adds Ravi Agrawal.
