An electric vehicle's battery pack because of their physical size is spread out over the entire length of the floor plan, typically floor pan. So essentially no matter where you hit it, potentially you could damage the case. And even if it doesn't actually catch fire, just for the sake of caution, insurance companies will typically say, we have to tow the whole bad vehicle and replace the battery.
