Sex and Gender
Gender is often defined as the cological, social and cultural aspects of being male or female. It can be broken down into three categories: gender identity, gender roll, gender expression. Gender role has to do with adoption of cultural expectations for maleness and femaleness. Or you can almost shorthand gender role as masculinity or femininity. An even gender identity is not completely separate from things like gender roll or gender expression.
