The Coldness of Death
Frostbite could still cost you fingers or a near lobe, but you appear to have beaten back the worst of the cold. The warm blood in the organs is then pumped by your heart throughout the body, like a car radiator in reverse. Your stiff limbs begin to unclench, as if death is slowly losing its hold on you. For another hour, nurses and AMTs hover around the edges of the table where you lie centered in a warm pool of light.
