How Science Equals the Natural Sciences
Science equals the natural sciences and scientists are experts who speak with a very high degree of authority. So if it's knowledge that's gained through sensory perception, if you can test it by the empirical method, then it's really privileged as a form of knowledge. For me, and I think for continental or at least German and the Dutch context, it's like normal that science, Vaitinschap includes the humanities. But my impression is that Dutch culture at the moment is, you know, it still uses the term 'science' but it seems to be getting more restricted in Dutch culture today.
