The Congressional Budget Office has produced some research along these lines. CBO estimates that the employee pays 62% of the 12.4%. But the employer probably pays much less than whatever that is left over, 38%. Why because the employer has got to come up with the money somewhere likely raises prices. Think exactly right now, the remnants of the hurricane in New Orleans. Right.
