The Economics of the Amazon Rainforest
The rainforest is incredibly profitable. When you cut down an old growth mahogany tree, it's worth sometimes tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. These are incredible hardwoods. You're ruining one of the greatest representations of beauty we have on this planet. It makes no sense. Like, it's just like us burning down a house right now to cook a meal. That's what we're allowing to be done.
