When we think about forests in the eastern United States, we got to go back to the Wisconsin glaciation because that's a couple of miles of ice that covered the east coast from 70 or sorry, 7,000 75,000 years ago. So it's like most of the eastern US covered in forest or covered that's covered in forest today covered in ice like three or four miles thick of ice. What you think of like Canada and the Canadian shield forest kind of look like today, that's what our force used to look like. It weren't impacted by glaciers. We'll talk about that more in a few slides.
