The Viral Cycle of Incompetence

Incompetent managers make terrible decisions on who to promote. The problem with it is that eventually in a hierarchy which all businesses are based on where most of the work is being done by the lower levels and then you go further and further up, people at the top do little or nothing. So eventually the top of the hierarchy becomes populated exclusively by incompetent people.
