The Cognitive Benefits of Sudoku
This chapter explores the belief that playing Sudoku enhances cognitive function and may prevent cognitive decline, particularly in the elderly. It examines various studies on the topic, while also celebrating the joy and engagement that comes from solving puzzles, regardless of their cognitive benefits.
Why is math both so easy and so hard for our brains, and how can the psychology of horses, babies, and mathematicians help answer that? And what wild journey did Sudoku take to become the popular puzzle that Ella adores?
