John Butters: We've been waiting for the consumer to get hit while low key they're getting hit and they're making decisions. Travel stocks, leisure, even restaurants as food prices come down from buying food at home are what people pull back on first. The market is rewarding positive EPS surprises less than average for Q1,. S&P 500 companies reporting positive earnings surprises have seen an average price increase of just 0.3%, which is below the five year average of 1%. So, the market is also punishing negative Earnings Surprise more than average in Q1.
