The Importance of Implicit Rules and Patterns of Behavior
He doesn't believe Moses really parted the Red Sea, not literally. So that's not what he's talking about. But we do have those whole left hand first and second person, implicit rules and patterns of behavior that we're really not that much aware of. We don't look at human sacrifice the way we did 4,000 years ago. There are different implicit rules for that. And the same goes for how men and women have interacted. The best evidence is that those unfold, those develop, those have changed.
