Buddhism is very wise psychologically as is stoicism and they're both brilliant traditions, but they grow out of times when life was unpredictable and dangerous. Now our lives are so safe and we can make such long-term plans that the Buddhism from long ago was often quite dark. The early Buddhism was quite dark about the importance of non-attachment because, and for reason, you know, life is suffering. But I don't think in modern times we should embrace that idea that everything's terrible, everything's suffering, so distance yourself from it.
