Chihiro and the Wind Rises

The pure world of spirits is in open conflict with the human world. Nausica itself depicts a toxified environment destroyed by war. The amusement park that chihiro's parents enter is emblematic, in a certain sense, of postwar japan. And yet, miasaki is not some uncompromising anti modernist who believes that all technology and development is bad. He's sometimes caricatured that way, but i think that really misses the point.
