There are certain populations that are at higher risk for alcohol. These are biological females and to those with gastric surgery. One study found that for women with a row and wide bypass, drinking two beers actually resembled the blood alcohol concentration that you'd expect after four drinks. Some of this is thought to do to the bypass of a enzyme we forgot about from med school gastric alcohol dehydrogenase.
