Pythagoras' Theory of Reincarnation
Pythagoras seems to have taught that the soul is distinct from the body, that it is immortal and survives after the body's death. This was a quite unusual teaching at the time, but would be picked up by many in the future, including of course Plato. We don't know much at all about the details of Pythagoras' theory of reincarnation. What is clear is that Pythagoras was seen as an expert on the nature of the soul and its fate after death.
