Nietzsche: The Philosopher

The philosopher represents the leap up from nature because no other creature has the ability to legislate values. All values previously were of a purely physiological nature, but with man we have a dynamism of values. And the reason why we have that is because of the philosophers. But these philosophical laborers today, Nietzsche says, they're merely following in their footsteps. They're following an old set of values rather than creating a new one. Everything complex becomes manageable by using philosophy as a means to make everything easy.
