I'm a Mammal. Is It a Mammal?
When you use the word, I'm a mammal. What it evokes is you're in touch with this enormous, ancient family of being that are kind of like every, every female mammal that's ever given birth or nurse to a child at that moment. And when your baby cries and you pick her up and put her to your breast and she, and she, you know, sucks hungrily and is happy, that brings the sense of like, wow, look at that. You're really taken right out of your ego when in the process of giving birth ... It's astonishingly physical. But there's an empowerment and a ferocious joy in it," he says.
