Lisbeth bishop wrote sonnets for robert lowell in the early seventies. The more you learn about her, the more the poems seem deeper and stranger. Bishop had a longing to go back to great village in nova scotia where she was found wandering around with chickens. Her reading is as though this is casual prose, as though it has been written over by someone else.
